Privacy notice

We ask only for what we need. Email signup is limited. Future help forms will be private. Sharing and retention stay limited.

What this notice covers

This notice covers the Ramara Helps website and service. Ramara Helps is separate from other local projects, political activity, and other ventures. Personal information is not shared across those systems.

Prelaunch email signup

The signup asks for your email address and whether you want helper, help-seeker, or general updates. It also records the notice you agreed to, when you agreed, and whether you confirmed the address. Do not use this signup to tell us what help you need.

Resend delivers the ownership-confirmation email. Only after confirmation do we add the address and interests to dedicated Ramara Helps lists in Constant Contact. Neither provider receives a help story, address, phone number, or private intake response from this signup.

What we plan to collect

Each form will show every question before you agree to send it. We will ask only what is needed to understand the form. We may also check basic safety and who can take part. We will contact a person only if they allow it.

How information may be used

  • Read and reply to private forms
  • Stop emergency or banned tasks and hold unclear forms
  • Learn about broad needs without naming anyone
  • Keep the service safe and follow the law

Personal information is not sold, used for advertising, used for political activity, or added to AI-training data.

Public information

Responses, contact details, exact locations, safety details, and identifiable stories will not be public. We may publish a broad theme only after a privacy check and enough separate households mention it.

Retention planned for the listening launch

  • Unconfirmed signup records: deleted after seven days
  • Confirmed email consent: kept until you unsubscribe, withdraw, or the prelaunch record is migrated or retired
  • Unfinished saved forms: 30 days after the last activity
  • Private forms and raw community suggestions: 180 days after the last meaningful contact
  • Records that a message was sent: 12 months
  • Basic records of admin actions: 24 months
  • Backups: no more than 35 days
  • Safety reports: five years unless the law requires a different period

The law may make us keep some records longer. If so, we will explain why.

Your choices

Every general update sent through Constant Contact will include an unsubscribe link. Every confirmation email also includes a private, email-owned link. The link withdraws your local Ramara Helps signup and begins deleting the local prelaunch email record. Where we have a verified provider record created by this signup, removal continues there too. If an update still arrives, use the Constant Contact unsubscribe link in that message. Merely opening the private link changes nothing; you must select the withdrawal button. Before help forms open, we will publish a privacy contact for other requests, subject to clear safety or legal limits.
